How Double Layer Medals Helped Bring the Timesliders Adventure to Life

When pupils take part in an adventure like Timesliders, the experience is about far more than simply completing a set of challenges. It’s about storytelling, discovery, teamwork and creating moments they’ll remember long after the day is over.

For the Timesliders adventure at Drum Castle in Aberdeenshire, we created a set of custom double layer wooden medals designed to capture the excitement and imagination of the experience while remaining true to the event’s sustainable values.

An Adventure Through Scotland’s Past, Present and Future

Timesliders tells the story of two young adventurers – Kyla and Eden – who travel through Scotland’s past, present and future in an effort to stop the villainous Professor Curran from rewriting the country’s history.

With the help of a time-travelling device called SUSIE, pupils are transported into an immersive story where they must solve puzzles, tackle challenges and work together to complete their quest.

During the adventure at Drum Castle, pupils navigate a labyrinth of team challenges, riddles and mysterious clues.

Why the Medal Matters

At the end of the adventure, pupils receive a medal. On the surface it’s a simple reward — but psychologically it represents something much bigger.

When designed well, a medal becomes part of the memory itself.
