Glow in the Dark Halloween Wooden Medal - Things that go Bump in the Night

All of us here at Zero Waste Medals love Halloween (next to Christmas, it is our favourite holiday), we have really enjoyed working on All Hallows' Eve themed wooden sports medals this year. We thought we would show you our favourite one!

This returning customer came to us with a brief for a Halloween medal, we love an excuse to experiment so suggested 3D printing with glow in the dark recyclable filament to really make the medal stand out.

Our customers often give us feedback that the more visually striking a medal, the more entrants to their race. This is especially good to hear from charities as it means increased funds raised for their cause.

As a business we have liked to support other local businesses since our early days so we knew we wanted to work with a 3D printer we have had great experience with in the past. Shane printed 200 glow in the dark discs for the Moon backing using a special filament we would like to work with more in the future that is recyclable.

As this was a time sensitive event the turnround on these medals had to be relatively quick so we used our biggest 900x1300mm Gweik 100w laser to sprint through 200 of these in just a day!

Some customers like a plain colour ribbon for the event medals while some prefer to have the sponsor’s logo/event name printed on the ribbon so one of our valued part time staff used the ribbon printer to learn a new skill for his role.

The race was an adult only race at night time in the woods of Watchtree but with a twist...scarers lurking in the woods !. Interesting and quirky medal for an interesting and quirky race. Some of the team would love to take part in their next event for sure!

We are always thankful for the chance to work on all our customer's projects but always nice to have a returning customer happy with our work (check out our reviews from our awesome clients)

One last thing to mention about this race, as it was a charity fundraising event we offered our 50% off medal prices charity promotion, helping out where we can is something we feel passionately about at Zero Waste Medals so keep us in mind for your next charity event.

As mentioned above, we are all Halloween/horror fans here so have been lucky to work on a handful of interesting Halloween inspired medals this year. Here are a selection of the ones cleared to share
