Last Christmas, I gave you a medal - Santa, reindeers and Holly
Hello world.
Well It's that time of year again! As we mentioned in our last blog, Christmas is a firm favourite of all the team at Zero waste medals. Just like Santa and his team, our very own elf's have been super busy getting Xmas themed medals ready for the many races
Much like Christmas lunch options and tacky jumpers, we also always have a wide range of medal design requests and we thought we would show off a few finished orders in time for the many Santa charity races this year!!
As well as engraved wood medals, we offer full colour sublimated medals which have been really popular with our customers this year
Something else we offer is multi layer medals. This can be 3 or 5mm (each layer) and either plain engraved or full colour. We made a few of these this season and shows you don't need traditional metal medals to have interesting medals
We work with companies and individuals from all over the UK (and world) but also sometimes more local. Wellington town council approached us to make over 100 snowflakes for their Christmas displays. We started with the wood shapes, made on the laser cutters, before gluing glitter (so much glitter) to both sides. We finished these snowflakes using twine to hang them on the trees (shown below) and we think they look really striking

We don't always get to see our work in the wild so we really appreciate it when our customers send us photos showing off our work, especially when they have been creative as we like to be.
We have also been busy with non-xmas themed medals but we had a request for a stand to showcase a special collection of medals for Watchtree nature research races. When put together they form a pyramid so a two layer stand which kept them together for display was quickly designed and sent to the customer.
As well as medals and medal-related displays, we also have requests for trophies for different sports and events. We work with wood mostly but we also make medals/trophies from welsh slate. Our slate supplier showed us this product and we have wanted to do something with it for a while now. Watch for future blog posts about our slate products (we could talk about them all day!)
Thank you for reading our blog this year and (hopefully) enjoying seeing a snapshot of our busy but fun life. From all of us at zero waste medals, we hope you have a great Christmas with family and friends and here's to an amazing 2022 for all!
