LocalPrintPros Takes Home High Street Heroes Award for 2023!
We've got some fantastic news to share that'll make you feel excellent about supporting local businesses. LocalPrintPros, the sister company of Zero Waste Medals, has been named a High Street Hero in the recently announced awards for 2023. Can we get a round of applause, please?
The High Street Heroes awards are a big deal in town, and they recognise businesses that go the extra mile to make a positive impact on their local community. These heroes are nominated by the people who know and appreciate them the most: residents, customers, and fellow businesses. It's a beautiful testament to the power of unity and support.
Nominations for the High Street Heroes began in February, and it's incredible to learn that over 500 nominations were received from locals who wanted to express their gratitude for these exceptional businesses. From hair salons and cafes to butchers, dry cleaners, performing arts studios, dance companies, and clothing stores, these heroes come in all shapes and sizes.
The High Street Heroes initiative is part of the council's Pride in Our High Street program, which aims to support and celebrate local businesses. Since its launch in 2019, the program has awarded 291 grants, totalling an impressive £1.1 million, to help businesses thrive. This financial support, along with other funding opportunities like eco grants, façade grants, and diversification grants, has made a significant difference to the local business community.
Councillor Lee Carter, Telford & Wrekin Council's cabinet member for the economy and neighbourhood services, congratulated all the businesses honoured as High Street Heroes for 2023. In these challenging times for high streets, these businesses have excelled and continued to uplift local people and communities. Councillor Carter emphasized the significance of small high street businesses and the council's recognition of their value through these awards, which are based on votes from customers and fellow businesses.
We can look forward to another round of High Street Heroes being announced later this year, just in time for Small Business Saturday. Remember, supporting local businesses is not just a once-a-year affair. Let's continue to shop locally and show our appreciation for the incredible work they do all year round.
