The medals that time forgot! - The Dinosaur 10k

The medals that time forgot 10k:

We deal with lots of different clubs and teams here at Zero Waste Medals and one group we recently made some sustainable wooden medals were for Deal Triathlon Clubs - Dinosaur 10k

An incredible event held at Promenade next to Walmer Sea Scout Hut in Kent it really set the scene for a great event followed by some great wooden medals too.

The event took place on the 18th of July and a link to their page with more information about the event can be found here: https://www.dealtri.co.uk/events/dinosaur-10k

Here's an excerpt from their event page which talks about the reasons and origins for the race.

The race is called The Dinosaur in fond memory of one of our Club founders, Roger Francis-Darby who died of skin cancer in 2000, but during his very competitive running, duathlon and multisport history he referred to himself as an old dinosaur - even though he was only in his mid 50's. Thus, when he passed away, we wanted to remember him and changed the name of the Deal Regatta 10k to the Dinosaur 10k. We give a large percentage of the profits from the race to the Canterbury Hospital Skin and Dermatology Department each year, as well as donating to the Deal, Walmer and Kingsdown Regatta Association. Deal Tri would like to thank all the sponsors and entrants who make these donations possible.

When it comes to raising money for charities we like to think we help as much as we can by offering discounted charity medals.

This helps boost the gap between the spend and the takings of the event to give an overall larger contribution towards it.

About the wooden medal:

When you see a medal as stand out as this one it's easy to just look at it and not consider how the wooden medal got to look so awesome. The colours are powerful, the detail is crisp and this is all down to the wonders of sublimation printing. We use water based sublimation inks to print these wooden triathlon medals and it gives a great finish.

If you're looking for some fantastic medals which will boost entries and get people talking about your event until the next year then look no further.
