Transitioning to Plastic-Free Medals in 2024

In 2024, we're making a big change in how we design medals. Instead of using plastic clips to hold ribbons, we're switching to a new, plastic-free design.

For years, plastic clips have served as a staple component in the assembly of medals. Their purpose was simple yet essential: to securely fasten the ribbon onto the medal, ensuring that it remained intact throughout its journey from production to presentation. These clips offered a multitude of benefits, from providing a safe attachment mechanism to offering a cost-effective solution that helped keep overall production costs down.

This switch isn't just about using less plastic. It's a statement about caring for our planet. Small changes, like using wooden hoops instead of plastic clips, add up to a big difference. Together, let's move towards a future where sustainability is at the forefront of everything we do.

At the heart of this transformation lies a groundbreaking new design: a wooden grooved hoop that serves as a revolutionary alternative to traditional plastic clips.

This wooden hoop not only eliminates the need for plastic entirely but also offers a host of additional benefits. Its innovative grooved structure provides a secure and reliable grip on the ribbon, ensuring that it remains firmly in place without the risk of breakage or slippage. By seamlessly weaving the ribbon between the grooves of the wooden hoop, a robust and resilient attachment is achieved, one that is both durable and eco-friendly.

By embracing this new design, we are not only reducing our environmental footprint but also sending a powerful message about the importance of responsible production practices.

As we embark on this journey towards sustainability, it is crucial to recognise the significance of small yet impactful changes. The shift from plastic clips to wooden hoops may seem like a minor adjustment, but its implications are far-reaching. It represents a fundamental shift in mindset—an acknowledgment that every decision we make, no matter how seemingly insignificant, has the power to shape the world around us.

Don't forget about our promise to plant a tree for every £500 spent with us through 2024. We have already planted 100 so far in January!
